MINISTERS AND LEADERS
ZENSANA MINISTRY
MINISTER AVIDAN BUCHWITZ
Minister Avidan Buchwitz, born Justin Nightingale, reclaimed his Hebrew name from his great-great-grandmother, Nadalia Buchwitz, to honor his ancestry and deepen his spiritual connection to his heritage. In Jewish tradition, receiving a Hebrew name marks a significant religious milestone, and this act signifies Minister Avidan's profound commitment to his faith and lineage. Minister Avidan serves as the visionary founder for the Grace of Devotion Mission Chapel, where he pioneered the concept of Pleromic Christianity. Through his partnership with Zensana, As a key leader within Zensana and the Rising Phoenix Entheogenic Temple, he has skillfully integrated multiple world religions into this modern reinterpretation of ancient texts. This work explores the universality of spirituality, emphasizing the concepts of spiritual fullness (Pleroma) and divine knowledge (Gnosis), which are central to human existence across different cultures and traditions. Currently, Minister Avidan is in the process of publishing a comprehensive 440-page document that delves into the relationship between Gnosis, the Pleroma, and their profound connections to various world religions. This scholarly work seeks to illustrate the interconnectedness of spiritual wisdom found in diverse traditions, furthering the understanding of the divine as a unifying force in human history. His leadership is characterized by a commitment to ethical education, community outreach, and financial empowerment. With a strong academic foundation, Minister Avidan's passion for social change continues to fuel his pursuit of a Master’s in Public Policy at UC Berkeley, where he aims to merge theological insight with financial and policy knowledge to inspire transformative impact in communities around the world. In addition, Minister Avidan is committed to advancing medical research on the use of psilocybin as an effective treatment for PTSD, clinical depression, and daily stress relief. He believes in the potential of this research to foster emotional well-being and enhance mental clarity for everyday health.

ORGANIZATION OF ZENSANA MINISTERS
Zensana’s leadership is organized through its Directors and Ministerial Leadership Team, which governs both Zensana and the Rising Phoenix Entheogenic Temple. Ministers are chosen based on their spiritual wisdom, their ability to inspire spiritual transformation within the community, and their commitment to cultural evolution through ancient practices. Ordination in Zensana is not hereditary or hierarchical; rather, it is based on demonstrated spiritual understanding, communal service, and a deep devotion to the doctrines of Zensana.
In keeping with the ancient wisdom Zensana draws from, the Ministers also serve as guardians of sacred rituals inspired by Vedic traditions and ancestral veneration, aimed at fostering spiritual and cultural growth. These rituals are designed to help both ministers and community members connect with their ancient roots, honor the wisdom of their ancestors, and apply that knowledge to create a better future.
Vedic-Inspired Rituals and Ancestral Veneration
1. Ritual of Soma Communion
In line with ancient Vedic practices, Zensana incorporates a Soma-inspired communion ritual. Although the exact nature of Soma remains a mystery, Zensana’s adaptation involves a sacred sacrament dose of psilocybin, symbolizing the divine elixir. This ritual is performed to open the channels of cosmic insight and align participants with the eternal wisdom of the universe. Ministers lead these ceremonies, guiding those taking part in the communion into meditative states that echo the ancient Vedic hymns of communion with the divine.
This practice allows participants to access the same otherworldly dimensions and higher truths that the Vedic sages once sought, bringing these ancient experiences into the modern spiritual journey. During this communion, participants focus on personal rebirth and cultural renewal, gaining insights that will guide them in shaping a more compassionate and enlightened world.
2. Honoring the Ancestors Ritual
Ministers also lead the community in ancestral veneration rituals, inspired by the ancient practices of ancestor worship that are found in Vedic traditions and other early spiritual systems. The ritual involves offerings of food, incense, and flowers, along with meditations focused on gratitude and connection to the wisdom of the ancestors. Psilocybin plays a role in this ritual by facilitating deeper spiritual connections, helping Members access ancestral memory and collective unconscious wisdom. Under its influence, participants often experience vivid visions of their ancestral lineage and gain insights into the lessons and guidance passed down through generations. These rituals not only honor those who came before but also remind participants that they are part of a continuous lineage of spiritual seekers whose evolution contributes to the ongoing cultural and conscious development of humanity.
3. Festival of Rebirth
Drawing on both Vedic teachings and Zensana’s own symbolism of the Phoenix Flame Truth, the Festival of Rebirth is a central ritual conducted annually by Zensana ministers. This festival celebrates the cycles of death and rebirth, mirroring the Vedic belief in samsara (the cycle of life, death, and rebirth) and the phoenix’s symbolism of renewal. During this Festival, the entire community engages in ceremonial macro dosing, guided by the Ministers. The ritual is designed to lead participants through a profound journey of spiritual renewal, where they symbolically shed old habits and patterns that no longer serve their spiritual growth. In this visionary state, participants receive divine insights and guidance for the next cycle of their spiritual journey, planting the seeds for personal transformation and cultural evolution.
4. Ritual of Conscious Evolution
In a unique fusion of ancient Vedic wisdom and modern consciousness practices, Zensana has developed the Ritual of Conscious Evolution. These rituals honor the long human journey from the earliest psilocybin-consuming hunter-gatherers to the profound spiritual practices of the Vedic sages and beyond. The ritual serves as a reminder of humanity’s evolutionary progress, especially in terms of spiritual consciousness and our ability to shape the world. Ministers lead this ritual with the goal of invoking both ancestral knowledge and future potential. It involves guided meditations, psilocybin sacraments, and reflections on humanity’s path from ancient wisdom to modern enlightenment. Participants envision the kind of world they wish to create, using the cognitive expansion induced by psilocybin to explore innovative ideas for a more enlightened society. By consciously evolving in alignment with the teachings of both ancient and modern wisdom, Zensana seeks to guide its members in co-creating a future where spirituality, community, and compassion are central to human life.
MINISTERS AS CULTURAL STEWARDS
Zensana’s Ministers are not only spiritual leaders but also stewards of cultural evolution. They are entrusted with the responsibility of preserving and revitalizing ancient rituals, while ensuring that these practices remain relevant and impactful in the modern world. By merging Vedic-inspired wisdom with the transformative power of psilocybin, the ministers guide the community toward a higher consciousness that integrates both the wisdom of the past and the possibilities of the future. Through these rituals, Zensana Ministers help members remain deeply connected to their spiritual heritage, while also inspiring them to take active roles in shaping the future of humanity. As such, Zensana is not only a religious organization but also a movement for conscious evolution, driven by the belief that true spiritual awakening is key to building a more harmonious and enlightened world.
SCHOOLS FOR THE PREPARATION OF MINISTERS
Ministers in Zensana are trained through the Zensana Academy, an institution dedicated to cultivating spiritual leaders who embody the core values of the faith and serve as cultural stewards of ancient wisdom. The academy provides a comprehensive program designed to guide students through both spiritual mastery and practical application, ensuring that all ordained ministers are deeply connected to the traditions of Zensana while also equipped to lead in the evolving spiritual landscape of the modern world.
The Zensana Academy emphasizes a holistic approach to ministerial preparation, blending rigorous intellectual study, spiritual discipline, and communal responsibility. The curriculum is designed to instill a profound understanding of Zensana’s doctrines, as well as ancient Vedic teachings and the sacred role of entheogens in spiritual growth. Aspiring ministers are also trained to lead rituals that honor ancestral wisdom and foster cultural and conscious evolution.
Program of Study
1. Mastery of Zensana Texts
Students must immerse themselves in the sacred texts of Zensana, including the Phoenix Flame Truth and other key doctrines that guide the community’s spiritual practices. These texts integrate both modern spiritual insights and the ancient wisdom of mystical traditions, including teachings drawn from the Vedic scriptures such as the Rigveda. Students are also required to study historical texts that explore the role of psilocybin mushrooms in spiritual awakening, such as Terence McKenna’s works, to understand the lineage of entheogenic practices throughout human history. Through mastery of these texts, ministers develop a deep knowledge of the symbolism of rebirth, the sacred use of psilocybin sacraments, and the spiritual path of continuous awakening.
2. Practical Guidance and Spiritual Counseling
Ministers are not only spiritual leaders but also guides for their communities. The Zensana Academy places a strong emphasis on practical leadership training, teaching students the skills necessary to offer spiritual counseling, lead communal living practices, and guide members through life transitions using ancient and modern rituals. Training includes conflict resolution, empathic communication, and guiding entheogenic journeys, ensuring that ministers are prepared to support members in moments of spiritual crisis, transformation, or communion with the divine.
3. Spiritual Disciplines and Communal Living
Central to the formation of Zensana ministers is the cultivation of spiritual discipline through regular practice. Students undergo rigorous training in various forms of meditation, such as focusing on the Phoenix Flame of Truth, as well as communal living practices that emphasize ethical leadership, compassion, and service. During their training, prospective ministers participate in Vedic-inspired rituals and ancestral veneration ceremonies that connect them to the ancient roots of their teachings. These rituals, often conducted during periods of macro dosing, deepen their spiritual connection and ensure that they are prepared to lead members through similar transformative experiences. Students also engage in ethical leadership exercises, ensuring that they embody the principles of integrity, self-discipline, and compassion in all their actions.
4. Honoring Ancestral Wisdom and Cultural Evolution
A key component of ministerial training is the practice of honoring ancestors and understanding how the ancient traditions of human consciousness evolution inform modern spiritual practices. Students learn to lead ancestral veneration rituals, drawing inspiration from both Vedic wisdom and early psilocybin-using cultures. These rituals help future ministers foster a deep connection to their ancestral lineage while preparing them to help others engage in cultural and conscious evolution. Ministers are trained to incorporate the teachings of Soma from the Rigveda, alongside modern understandings of psilocybin’s role in consciousness expansion, into spiritual ceremonies that guide members toward cosmic insight and collective unity.
5. Qualifications and Ordination
To be ordained, prospective ministers must successfully complete the training program, demonstrate a profound understanding of Zensana’s teachings, and exhibit their commitment to the community through service. Before ordination, candidates must also lead a full cycle of Zensana’s rituals, including a Soma-inspired communion, an ancestral veneration ceremony, and the Festival of Rebirth. This hands-on experience ensures that ministers are fully prepared to guide others on their spiritual journey. Ordination is not given lightly. It is granted only to those who have shown deep devotion to Zensana’s doctrines, the ability to inspire transformation, and a commitment to the community. Unlike hereditary or hierarchical systems, Zensana’s ministers earn their place through wisdom, service, and the cultivation of their own spiritual awakening.
MINISTERIAL IMPACT & CODE OF CONDUCT
Graduates of the Zensana Academy are not only spiritual leaders but also ambassadors of ancient wisdom, tasked with leading the community through rites of passage, cultural evolution, and communal unity. As keepers of the sacred psilocybin sacrament, they guide members through profound journeys into divine communion, using the knowledge of both modern neuroscience and ancient traditions to support members’ personal and collective transformation. In the modern world, Zensana ministers are instrumental in helping the community navigate spiritual crises, providing leadership that is rooted in both the ancient practices of Vedic-inspired rituals and the transformative power of entheogenic communion. By preserving and evolving these sacred traditions, Zensana’s ministers act as cultural stewards, ensuring the continued spiritual growth and conscious evolution of the community.

Ministerial Code of Conduct
The ministers of Zensana are entrusted with the sacred responsibility of guiding the community through spiritual transformation and cultural evolution. To fulfill this role with honor, they must embody the highest virtues, serving as living examples of the teachings they uphold. The Ministerial Code of Conduct reflects Zensana’s deep commitment to ethical leadership, compassionate service, and the pursuit of spiritual enlightenment through the path of the Phoenix Flame Truth. Each minister is expected to uphold the following principles:
1. Integrity of Spirit
Ministers are called to live in alignment with the core doctrines of Zensana, reflecting the values they teach in their personal lives. Their actions must mirror their words, cultivating a life of honesty, authenticity, and spiritual devotion. Integrity means practicing self-discipline, honoring the sacred traditions, and remaining faithful to the spiritual practices that keep the community connected to its ancient wisdom. Just as the phoenix rises anew, ministers must continually renew themselves through introspection and spiritual discipline, ensuring that their leadership remains grounded in truth.
2. Compassionate Leadership
Compassion is at the heart of spiritual awakening. Ministers are expected to lead with kindness and empathy, understanding that each member of the community is on a unique spiritual journey. Whether guiding a member through the transformative power of the psilocybin sacrament, offering support during times of crisis, or helping others connect to ancestral wisdom, ministers must always act with gentle care and selfless love. Every action and decision should be made in the service of helping others attain deeper understanding and communion with the divine, embodying the fullness of light and love.
3. Service to the Community
The life of a Zensana minister is one of dedicated service. Ministers must commit themselves to the well-being of the entire Zensana community, serving not only as spiritual leaders but as guides, counselors, and caretakers. This service includes leading sacred rituals, such as the Soma communion, the ancestral veneration ceremonies, and the Festival of Rebirth, as well as providing spiritual guidance to members on their path of awakening. Ministers are expected to offer their time, energy, and wisdom to uplift the community, fostering an environment of spiritual growth, unity, and collective evolution.
4. Humility in Service
Ministers of Zensana are taught to lead with humility, never seeking personal power or recognition. Their role is to serve as facilitators of the spiritual awakening of others, not to assert dominance or control. True leadership is found in selflessness, in guiding others toward their own spiritual transformation and communion with Soma and the Prime Creator without seeking personal gain. Ministers must practice the art of silent leadership, offering wisdom with a gentle hand, and allowing the phoenix of rebirth to rise within each individual through their own journey. Ministers are the guardians of the flame, but it is the community’s collective spirit that they serve above all.
Guiding Principles for Zensana Ministers
The Ministerial Code of Conduct is more than just a set of rules; it is a living expression of Zensana’s vision for spiritual leadership and cultural evolution. Ministers, as keepers of ancient wisdom and guides of modern consciousness, are tasked with leading the community toward higher levels of awakening and collective enlightenment. Through integrity, compassion, service, and humility, they uphold the sacred responsibility of fostering spiritual transformation in themselves and others, ensuring the continued growth of the Zensana community and its alignment with the Phoenix Flame Truth.
ORDINATION OF THE ZENSANA CLERGY
The Ordination of Zensana Clergy is a sacred and transformative ceremony, known as SOMA, where new Zensana Ministers are formally initiated into their role as spiritual leaders. The SOMA ceremony is a profound rite of passage, symbolizing the minister’s dedication to wisdom, service, and the spiritual awakening of the community. This ordination is a pivotal moment in a minister’s journey, marking their spiritual rebirth and alignment with the Phoenix Flame Truth.
The SOMA Ceremony
1. Rituals of Enlightenment and Purification
The SOMA ordination begins with the Ritual of Enlightenment, where the initiate undergoes a sacred purification ceremony. This ritual serves to cleanse the mind, body, and spirit, preparing the minister for their role as a guardian of the divine flame. The initiate is guided by the Ministerial Leadership Team through ancient Vedic-inspired cleansing rites, which include the use of sacred incense, water, and meditation to align their spirit with the celestial realms. Following the purification, the initiate receives the SOMA elixir, composed of a 2-gram macro dose of psilocybin. This sacrament, revered for its ability to expand consciousness and connect the individual to the higher planes of reality, serves as a spiritual catalyst, allowing the initiate to commune with the Prime Creator through the deity Soma, their ancestors, and the celestial realms. The SOMA elixir initiates a profound visionary journey, during which the initiate gains deeper insight into the cosmic truths that they will carry forward as a minister.
2. Focus on the Phoenix Flame Truth
At the heart of the SOMA ceremony is a period of prayer and meditation, where the initiate is guided to focus on the Phoenix Flame Truth, the eternal symbol of spiritual rebirth and divine enlightenment. In this meditative state, the initiate connects to the cosmic energy of the flame, symbolizing their readiness to rise as a spiritual leader who embodies Zensana’s core principles of awakening and transformation. The initiate’s connection to the flame signifies their alignment with ancient wisdom, as the flame represents not only the inner fire of personal growth but also the collective consciousness of Zensana, its members, and the wisdom of the ancestors who have walked this spiritual path before them.
3. Sacred Oaths and Allegiance to Zensana
Once the initiate has completed the visionary journey induced by the SOMA elixir and meditated upon the Phoenix Flame, they are called upon to make a series of sacred oaths. These oaths are pledges of allegiance to Zensana, its teachings, and the 12 core values that guide the community. The initiate vows to uphold the Ministerial Code of Conduct, pledging to lead with integrity, compassion, service, and humility. As part of the sacred oaths, the initiate also pledges to serve as a guide and protector of the community’s spiritual well-being, ensuring that members are able to access the higher dimensions of consciousness through psilocybin communion, ancestral veneration, and the pursuit of spiritual enlightenment. These vows bind the minister to the eternal path of truth, much like the phoenix is eternally bound to the cycle of death and rebirth.
Symbolism and Spiritual Rebirth
The SOMA ceremony is more than just an ordination, it is a spiritual rebirth, symbolizing the initiate’s transformation into a spiritual guide for the Zensana community. Through the sacred use of psilocybin, the initiate is able to experience a direct communion with the divine, drawing upon ancient wisdom to guide their future leadership. The Phoenix Flame Truth acts as a central pillar of this transformation, reinforcing the minister’s commitment to living a life of enlightenment and service.
The Role of Ministers After Ordination
Following ordination, Zensana ministers are entrusted with leading the community in sacred rituals and spiritual practices, including the Soma communion, ancestral veneration ceremonies, and the Festival of Rebirth. They serve as the guardians of Zensana’s sacred traditions, helping members navigate their own spiritual journeys while remaining committed to the collective evolution of the community. Ordained ministers embody the flame of truth, guiding others through the cycles of awakening, rebirth, and cultural transformation. By undergoing the SOMA ceremony, ministers become keepers of the ancient flame, carrying forward the legacy of human consciousness evolution and psilocybin’s sacred role in spiritual awakening. Their ordination marks their eternal commitment to truth, wisdom, and the divine journey.
